SIGN of the times? The website www.housepricecrash, where you can check whether your home is about to become worthless, had to be taken down to upgrade its servers. The site can’t cope with the number of hits.

This must mean the VI's are on singing pig or watching this site!! maybe a copy of the FTB doc should be the front page!! laugh.gif laugh.gif

"where you can check whether your home is about to become worthless "

Has there ever been a thread about checking to see if your home is literally going to become worthless (as opposed to a bad investment)?

Rather an exaggerated and perhaps belittling way of describing the site, I thought.

They were probably just trying to be ironic or something, considering the tone of their other articles wink.gif anyway for me it didn't quite come off especially when the article is quoted out of context.

I suppose it's just sensitivity to the fact that as HPC gets more and more publicity, there will be a temptation to portray it as doom-mongers rather than a reputable source.

It would have been nice if they had put in the HPC web address in correctly. They forgot the .co.uk, the link they gave doesn't work.

Stupid timesonline.

I think this is fairly sympathetic. It is bigging us up quite a lot, when mentioning the strain on the servers. Plus, I reckon many city types will be able to spot a bubble when they see one - this has all the hallmarks...

Welcome (even more) Times readers!

I don't think HPC.co.uk or other forums will get much honest help from the traditional media, forums are a big threat to their sales IMO.

I've learnt more on the HPC forum about the market & economics in the last 10 months, than I would have ever done in probably 3 years or so of reading the property sections of newspapers.

They can't compete, especially with widely available broadband access now & even if they could we would just link to their articles. biggrin.gif

Since reading web forums more, I find myself bored of tv/radio news & printed media. The webs more eco friendly too, using less resources compared to paper.

Starting to think HPC has alot more clout and influence, than i first thought. I wonder how many bearish articles/tv programs, comments, and even the public view have been influnced by the site, word of mouth etc etc...

HPC is only a website, but i think were having an a reasonable influnce on the market, perhaps kirstie was right about her 'insider trading' concerns

B0ll0cks. If we are having so much influence on the market, why hasn't it crashed yet? laugh.gif

BTW, don't ever again suggest that Kirtsy Allsop was right about anything, it's a repulsive suggestion.
