Bradford & Bingley have lowered the rate in their Internet Saver 2 account from 6.4% down to 6.15%, backdated to 2nd March!
Surely that can't be legal can it? I would have assumed that there must be some sort of banking code ensuring that they inform their savers of interest rate changes in advance.

Good grief - I've never heard of that before!
I suppose you have to ask yourself the question of why they have done this? Are they so desperate for funds?

Thats nothing. Halifax have dropped their internet web saver account down to 4.7%

Rates are down across most (all?) of B&B savings rates. But this is actually for a very good cause, as this
article here shows.
