Irish house prices fell 7pc last year. The pace of decline has accelerated so far this year.

Has anyone read that quote from the Irish Independant? Is there a link?

QUOTE
The establishment has pretended it's business as usual. But the mood is now changing. The Irish Independent warned this week that the country is sliding into a serious slump.

"Look at all the signs: every single one is screaming that the economy is in big, big trouble. Housing market dead, new car sales dead, consumer confidence is dead, record job losses, exporters being killed off by a strong euro, fuel prices spike, housing repossessions increase," it said.

QUOTE
There is now no doubt that the collapse of the housing sector is hurting the wider economy and we are now technically in the midst of a recession.

No longer any denial down south of what is happening. Still some denial up here rolleyes.gif

Denial is a strong tool when you are in debt to the banks to the extent many in Northern Ireland are in.

I have loved NI all my life, thought it to be the best wee place on earth - but this greed disease that has gripped our society has left a once great wee place an intolerable snob riddled dump.

So roll on the HPC

BB and everyone sorry for getting this post back up the ratings again - but it is especially pertinent considering events in America with regards to Bear Stearns near collapse in the States. This cantagion has gotten legs! People are waking up to the fiat economy and currency fraud........ They are starting to realise that they will be robbed through inflation ,bank bail out taxes and banking insolvencies.
