Full Version: Announcement: Property-bee Toolbar Soon Available For Propertynews.com
House Price Crash forum > House Prices > Regional House Prices > Northern Ireland

Hi everyone in the NI HPC forum.

I just wanted to make you all aware of a fantastic tool I have been using on the rightmove website for some time and which is due to become available to users of the propertynews.com website soon.

The tool is called Property-Bee and is a small downloadable plugin for the Firefox browser. It works brilliantly and complements work done in other areas of reporting such as http://www.treesdontgrowtothesky.com/

You will see my communication with the software developer here http://www.property-bee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3 and if you'd like to know more about the tool in general click here to visit their website. If you have the firefox browser why not download the plugin and visit http://www.rightmove.co.uk/ to see the tool on action. You'll love it!

I'll keep you informed as and when it launches live.

Thanks for your comment Jackster.

Good news folks! Looks like property-bee will be operational soon on propertynews.com.

Click here and follow the first link on http://nipropertyauctions.googlepages.com/ to read a post from the developer. Unfortunately I can't directly link to HPC.com (you know the global one that must not be mentioned!) from this HPC site.

The developer is looking for additional volunteers now to help test it. It's not difficult to do and you get the opportunity to shape how property-bee works with propertynews.com

I'll be helping out with the testing and if you're also interested in helping test this development, post a message or personal message the developer, beerhunter through the property-bee forum http://www.property-bee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3

Thanks

Hi all - just a quick update on the progress with the Property-Bee tool. I started beta testing this with the developer yesterday and I must say it looks fantastic and works great. Final checks are being made today. It won't be long now till the tool will be on general release to everyone via http://www.property-bee.com and then you'll be able to see historical price changes for properties you are tracking on PN.com LIVE! A great tool to complement TDGTTS reports - especially if you (like me) are struggling with eager anticipation to wait for the next TDGTTS report each weekend.

Will give you all another "heads up" post when the tool launches live.

Hi PP - shouldn't be long now. Sit tight. Have you had a go using the current release on the rightmove and daft websites?

Good to be back thanks. In one piece (only just). Broke my tailbone falling heavily on an icy Olympic downhill piste on day 1 of the holiday . Bummer biggrin.gif Had to take it easy on the slopes for the rest of the week. Looks like it might take 5 or 6 weeks for the pain to go away, so it is now official - I am a pain in the a$$ (well to EA's and PN.com at least!).

I know like me you love your property analysis so property-bee will be right up your street.

Know that pain all too well. Did the same thing last year snow boarding when I landed on a protruding rock just off the piste! blink.gif Went back to skiing this year and found it so less punishing on the body. But I still feel the tail bone the odd time since then! Well at least you should have a pile of cash to sit on and ease the pain by not having bought at the top of the housing bubble laugh.gif

Sure Subby,

It's an add-on that lets you track price changes of properties that you view on propertynews.com. It will keep an eye on all the properties that you have in your favourites or for any search you do. For more info see here: http://www.property-bee.com/ It is really simple to use and lets you track the price history of properties of your choice on propertynews.com live rather than waiting for the weekly report from TDGTTS.

Give it a go - you'll be amazed about what you can track on each property.

The only thing you need to bear in mind is that it works on the Firefox browser only. You can download Firefox for free by clicking here
subby
cheers for that, I'll have a nosey when I get home tonight....and I use Firefox anyway biggrin.gif

Wow, beerhunter this toolbar is superb.

Wrote myself a VBScript to launch each page of a propertynews search into a new tab.... should save me a bit of time (well, for a 639 page search anyway!)

CODE
Sub LoopFirefox(start,finish,url)

     dim commandLine, WshShell
     Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")

For count = start to finish
        commandLine = "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
        WshShell.Run Chr(34) & commandLine & Chr(34) & " " & url & count,8,true
     Next
     set WshShell=nothing

end sub

call LoopFirefox("101","110","http://www.propertynews.com/results.php?s=40712749&p=")

edit: Oh, unless there's an easier way than clicking on each search results page?
edit: Also, if anyone's thinking of using this script, make sure you have a firefox window open when you run it, that way it'll open new tabs into the same instance.
