Ditto. I'd love to know more about the interaction between the nationalisation of NR and EU regulations.

Is there anything to prevent Brown using NR to offer even more lax credit to people in order to try and avoid an economic "slowdown"/collapse?

The FEd has slashed IRs, the US govt is pumping the economy, the $ is weakening LT (though I sense a stregthening ST), thus banks will go back to what they do i.e. borrow short and lend long. Thus they will have money to lend in due course. Thus the stock market will rise.

Hi FP,thanks for that but does that mean that you no longer think HP's will drop 30%. Do you think banks will continue to recklessly lend? Kind regards

Banks - read US. So, no. Of course they will. Anyway it's 35%.

Now I'm confused! So IRs will drop and banks will continue to lend recklessly...

...how are HPs going to fall 35% again?!
