Just to those who have savings in Tesco - I was due to move my money into a better paying account, when they offered me an additional .25% interest for three months. Now paying 6% if you have the bonus 1% No penalties & can withdraw at any time. Not brilliant, but acceptable

How did you get the offer a general mailshot or did you ring them up? Just wondering whether everyone is getting this or whether you got it individually?

Sorry for delay in response. I just phoned them to check the rate I was on & mentioned I would be looking for better rates elsewhere & she asked me to hold on for a moment which I did & then she came back & offered me the extra for 90 days with no ties on my side.

Tesco ... part of RBS... one of the more undercapitalised banks in the UK. They obviously need the cash... I used to have a fair bit in Tesco - but I prefer slightly stronger UK alternatives now,.
