Just a bit of fun but I do get sick of seeing rental ads saying NO DSS, NO CHILDREN, NO PETS NO SMOKERS etc etc
I thought next time I am looking for a rental which with these shorthold tenancy agreements, one is never secure for very long, I may just put an ad in the paper.

Lady with lots of baggage children and pets seeks house up to £..... per month. Only professional Landlords need apply. Professional Landlord needs to have resources to maintain property. NO BTL LANDLORDS, NO LANDLORDS AWAITING REPOSSESSION, NO SLUM LANDLORDS need apply.

Apart from getting no replies have I missed anything out. rolleyes.gif

Yes I did miss something. No agencies please. This is going to be one of those lonely threads. Oh well I'm having fun.

You probably need to throw them a bone as it were - give them an incentive to take you - eg, "but non smoking" or "with funds available to pay the rent", or maybe how about advertising the incentive package - your reference check fees will be reduced if they reply to the ad in x days (round here, one agency is advertising a "free I pod shuffle with this property" and another is doing "half price tenant checks when you apply by...") I've always been keen on the idea of doing a credit check on the agency or the LL, and charging them a similar fee for the pleasure...

errrr....unless you want to rent a room in someone else's house, aren't you by definition going to be living in a BTL house?

No there are many Landlords from a bygone age that didn't have a mortgage on the property. I was one but that's another story. The whole btl thing is relatively new and has only exploded in recent years.
I am just constantly surprised by how much LLs and Agencies expect from Tenants and do so little in return except take the rent.
Like I said it's just a bit of fun laugh.gif
