Full Version: Anyone Else For Pushing The Hpc Along Some
House Price Crash forum > House Prices > Regional House Prices > Northern Ireland

The sticker idea from the main thread has some great logo suggestions:

I'm thinking of making some of my own stickers to help capitulate the coming drop. Also came up with legal way of advertising the site/crash on the doorsteps of EA's. Stencil and powerhose required, by removing the normal pavement grime, a nice imprint can be left. Marketing company example below:

Anyone up for it?

I've tried spreading info via social networking sites, it didn't have much success because bebo etc considered it spam.

The best way to get the message across would be for all of us to chip in, write up a leaflet and get it delivered to every house in Northern Ireland with our sub forum URL and important facts about the NI house price crash. That's the only way I see the message getting out to the masses and actually being able to generate enought interest to make a difference.

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost for a campaign like that? I don't know but I would like to find out a price range.

not for me young FTB

I would consider myself as passive to the events that will occur

ok - we all may write with some bias from time to time, but if you come to a site called hpc what do you expect?!

but going out and pushing a leaflet through peoples letter-boxes for the cause? very very dangerous IMHO

and un-necessary too; market hype got us here, sentiment will take us back

And you want to do this, why?

Well you can write on here till the cows come home, or you can raise public awareness by leaflets/stickers.

Which will have the most effect on speeding the coming onslaught?

Why so dangerous....getting paranoid PP?

A little anonymous introduction of leaflets into belfast telegraph property section in your local news agent, propertynews at you local EA etc.
There is no need to identify yourself/this site.

Don't want to appear pernicious but talk is cheap, actions speak louder. Sentiment btw could take 3-5 years.

No - I just envisaged putting a leaflet through someones letterbox stating that HPs were ridiculously overpriced and we should welcome a fall; said person comes to the door who bought last year and looks to go through me for a shortcut

As I said before action is unnecessary - sit back enjoy the view cool.gif , HPs will fall here regardless of any action we may take

economics and science are based on laws - in this case these laws are absolute

Be patient...

... the crash has started. IMHO it cannot be stopped this time. There is just too much debt/fraud out there.

Ditto

Its the chat at my place of employment! One guy who is doing a self build mentioned his plasterers only had two days work last week and nothing lined up for a while. Its going to be interesting when the next quartlery report comes out. A lot of people know there have been drops but just think what is going to be like when the larger figures of drops come thru!
Even the fact that a quarter of the souths economy is dependant on building was mentioned!

I couldn't care less about 'speeding' the property crash, even if I could which is highly unlikely. It'll happen because it happens.

Maybe you can also distribute leaflets telling people the weather is crap.

Just replying to the thread with a suggestion

Well, I did my bit recently. There were a few houses for sale signs stuck up at work. One place at 190k had the price scored out with 175k written in neatly. I scored that out and put on 150k. However it has been changed back to 175k unfortunately... wink.gif
