I'm increasingly struck by the raging note of hysteria in threads on this site. In the year I've been here the tone has gone from rightful concern, predictions of turmoil as a result of global financial imprudence, to one of fear, screaming, and dire prognostications of the sun being blacked-out, plagues, and boiling seas.

Things are serious chaps, but as Brian said, look on the bright side.

Is HPC a doomsday cult? I sincerely hope so!
I like to start the day by logging on to this site to get my dose of bad news. This is followed by some light self-flagellation and a very cold shower.
The suggestion that HPCers are either mad or losers is a malicious rumour put about by estate agents and investment bankers!

The next logical step would be to proclaim a ritual mass suicide. This could take place at a symbolic venue...possibly at the entrance of a block of BTL flats.
