What's the best way to sell small quantities of gold coins?

I was looking at Ebay but prices don't seem to get much above the spot price and you lose about 7% of the final value to Ebay and Paypal fees.

What sort of commission do gold dealers usually charge for buying coins?

You could try Baird & Co who buy and sell gold coins. Go to www.goldline.co.uk

You won't pay ebay/paypal fees but the spread is about 10% typically on the buy-sell. Also, you have to pay for postage to Baird in London.

Ebay are certainly looking less attractive day by day.

They now insist you use Paypal in certain categories (not sure if coins are included) or if you have less than 100 feedback, which takes 3.5% off your sale price, and more recently they've hiked up the final value fees.
