I am told that people who sell properties get the money wire into their bank accounts rather than having a cheque? A few questions:

1. Is this instant? (As opposed for X days for a cheque to clear)

2. I assume there is a fee - any idea how much from UK bank to UK bank?

Wouldn't they use a CHAPS transfer which is usually the same day if before [3pm] I think. Cost is usually £20-30 last time I did a CHAPS transfer.
