iShares tests inverse ETFs concept

"News that Barclays is looking at inverse ETFs follows confirmation that Lyxor Asset Management is also considering launching a range of inverse ETFs.

Insight co-head of fund of funds, Patrick Armstrong, is a fan of inverse ETFs and he invests in them for exposure to US markets. ‘They’ve allowed us to go short of mid and small-cap US stocks and therefore mitigate equity risks. They are useful as they are cheap and can be used to trade in huge volumes,’ he said."

I have been looking at Bear funds recently and came across this which interests me. Obviously people in the know are wondering if it is all up as well!

Interesting to see the performance of the financials and Real Estate, if the market is on its way down you can make some really good money, obviously not on the way up!

Oh well, I tried it. In 1 and a 1/2 months I am up and sold, around 20% I am stupid, cos at one point I was up 33%. Not sure if it will work any more though! dry.gif
