Here is the banking codes idea of who owns what, note that it puts Sainsbury's alone and not with its partner!

http://www.bankingcode.org.uk/faq.htm

I am looking for decent (6.25% upwards) interest as it seems likely the idiots in charge will try to drive them down. Anyone think similar or think I'm the idiot(and constructive)?

Would put more away, but paying the mortgage off next June. smile.gif

Plus we want to carry out a few improvements on the property, hence, I don't want it completely tied up. Not sure if Ango Irish is still available, but it was for 6.9% over a year (Oct 08).

The IceSave is for 6 months @ 6.76% until Jun 08

As to your question, its hard to tell.

The more I read the more confused I get with it all. sad.gif

Nationwide is 6.6% without a current account - still not bad. And probably one of the safer institutions (I hope as I've just bought one of these!)

Sounds good - I did not dare mention Northern Rock at 6.71 to 1/10/08 but I do wonder if the worst case scenario now is to be taken over by government. I suppose there is a chance this is one of the safest to stick 35k in.

That's just it, it is the safest one now. dry.gif
