a rather sniffy article by a teenaged scribbler who resorts to the moniker of "doomsters" a little too much... tongue.gif

he obviously reads this website as well as 'the other place' so **hello there**

and he is right that the "doomsters" haven't gone away - lets face it, things are only starting to become interesting...

I think it is important to link this with the 'Calm before the storm' thread:

It's part of the capitulation process required before the crash.

Whatever happened to the demolition of our housing market?

QUOTE
The UK website housepricecrash was set up in 2003 as a non-profit-making forum for consumers. It now receives 7,000 visitors a day and has just been bought by the online media company Fubra.

Three years after its inception, its purpose remains the same: "to act as a counterbalance to the huge amounts of positive spin the housing market receives in the main media".

Spokesman Reinhardt Schu is adamant that it has not overstated the risks.

"I do believe there will be a crash," he says, "but the timing hasn't been right - that's always the danger. That a crash hasn't happened yet doesn't mean that it won't happen."

Mr Schu points to homeowners' overstretched salaries and the failure of earnings to keep pace with house price inflation. He believes the downturn will start with lenders no longer being able to offer cheap loans to first-time buyers and those on low incomes, and with the collapse of the buy-to-let market.

Great to see this in the mainstream media.

Yep, I'll second that Zag, it's been a while since we've had any mainstream coverage and never in the Independent before.

God that pisses me off! We can get 3500 a day, yet our alexa rating is not double that of HPC's at 25K sad.gif Not using some funky java script to get the hit rate up to fool the engines are you Webmaster? wink.gif I reckon it's the way our site is created that causes several page reads to log as one dry.gif
Anyhow, we must ref. this article from the indie now

No we're not!
