Just an idea, but could we have a page on this site, where people could be directed to (whether it be via a link in a press release, or in a personal email to a newspaper / TV / MP) which gives a simple and brief explaination of the HPC.co.uk stance?

At the moment I could give a link to http://housepricecrash.co.uk .. but from the readers point of view, it actually takes some time and effort to filter out and understand what hpc.co.uk stands for.

As to what should be on the page... perhaps a pinned thread in the main section could be used to collect ideas, and between the mods, admin and the more experienced posters we could thrash out a couple of paragraphs?

You can say that again, obviously its a site designed to slice through the smoke and mirrors of the Vested Interests media machine bent on extracting a high price out of perspective home buyers. But it can and does come over as a site inhabited by pathalogicaly flawed people haters at times. rolleyes.gif

Yes it is a site designed to slice through the smoke and mirrors of VI's... but nowhere actually says that... and when a jouurnalist/MP wants a story/facts, you need to hand it on a plate cut up in small mouth size chunks smile.gif

Pathalogicaly flawed people haters... thank you for being so kind about me wink.gif

I don't know that thats entirely fair 'pathological people haters'?

I hate waste. I particularly hate waste in the public sector. I am very committed to a strong public sector. I think there are some things that are too important to be left to chance and the potential for profit. As such I hate waste in anything that is funded by the public by any means including the BBC - but I note a certain fear / self-censorship when it comes to the big white cow. However I don't feel that the institution itself is sacred so much as the ideal behind it.

I hate liers. That means I hate EAs. It also means I hate government spin, dressed as (methodologically flawed, but who reads the fine print but me?) government research.

I hate manipulation and slippery arguements. Although they make a good counter point for a slam dunk.

I hate having to live in somebody elses house and share a bathroom with virtual strangers. That is why I am here.

I love dogs, but I love them too much to have one in the current housing market!

I don't hate people but they get on my nerves with their lack of both logic and considered compassion.
